Kuhmon kaupungin sijoitustoiminnan piiriin kuuluvan varallisuuden alkupääoma on peräisin vuodelta 2002, jolloin kaupunki perusti 21.2.2002 valtuuston päätöksellä § 18 kehittämisrahaston, jonka alkupääoma oli 12.500.000,00 euroa.
