Das Projekt “Korridorsanierung Remagen – Mainz" umfasst die umfassende Sanierung der Linken Rheinstrecke in der Region Mitte. Der betrachtete Abschnitt erstreckt sich von Strecke 2630 Bahn-km 44,160 bis Strecke 3510 km 27,850 und hat eine Gesamtlänge von rund 130 km. Im Rahmen der Korridorsanierung werden in vier Bauabschnitten zwischen Remagen und Mainz unter anderem rund 81 km Gleis, 102 Weichen
