Für die aktuell am Lehrstuhl durchzuführenden Projekte ist die Herstellung freistehender Wellenleiter mittels "Faraday Cage Etching" zentral. Dieser komplexe Prozess erfordert zwei völlig unterschiedliche Ätzregime in derselben Kammer. Entsprechend werden Entkoppelte Plasmadichte und Ionenenergie (für p-i-n Dioden Integration) benötigt.
